You may be wondering how to save for your family’s future?
Raising children in today’s economy can turn out to be very costly because we have to spend money on things like extracurricular activities, childcare, clothes, formula, diapers, college tuition, birthdays and more! 😩
However, being financially prepared makes life much easier for you and your family in the long run. I look forward to sharing a few money saving tips to help you to better prepare for your family’s financial goals and save money while parenting.
#1 Try Secondhand
Children outgrow things so quickly when they are small, so it isn’t always necessary to buy them the most expensive things while being at such a young age.
Trying finding consignments stores like Once upon a child where you can buy items that are second hand such as toys, tablets, gently used clothes, highchair, or even a play pen. You can also sell children’s items to them and get paid cash on the spot.
#2 Saving on Groceries 🍎🥦
One of the biggest bills that many parents carry over month to month— is the grocery bill. This can be very intimidating to any family’s budget. To offset this, try to meal plan or make a grocery list when shopping so that you aren’t distracted and picking up unplanned items off of the shelves.
You can also try to go shopping when you aren’t hungry so that you can be more focused on your list rather than that feeling of hunger in that moment. Coupon clipping, from the junk mail that you receive in your mailbox can actually turn out to be a life saver when looking to save on essentials.
No matter which option you choose, a rule of thumb would be to set a monthly budget and spend as little as you can on eating out and focusing on preparing meals at home.
